Brooks U.S. Senate campaign drops TV ad touting Jan. 6 speech, Trump endorsement

U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) on Thursday released his U.S. Senate campaign’s first television advertisement of the 2022 primary election cycle.

The ad, titled “January 6th,” embraces the congressman’s speech at the Ellipse and touts his candidacy holding the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

The 30-second spot features Brooks taking a swipe at Republicans who he says “sell out our conservative values” while displaying images of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and his GOP primary rival Katie Britt.

“America does not need any more weakling, cowering, wimpy Republican congressmen and senators. On January 6th, I proudly stood with President Trump in the fight against voter fraud,” says Brooks in the ad. “I’m running for the Senate because I’m tired of debt-junkie, weak-kneed open-border RINOs who sell out our conservative values. That’s why President Trump endorses me, and why Mitch McConnell opposes us. I’m Mo Brooks, and you better believe I approve this message.”

Watch:

The primary election is slated to occur on May 24, 2022.
