Following the passage of President Donald Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ in the Senate on Tuesday, U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt issued praise for the legislation and touted all that it stands to accomplish if signed into law.
Britt noted the bill’s inclusion of significant childcare relief provisions, which has been a landmark policy she has promoted during her tenure in the Senate.
“This is about more than just addressing our child care crisis – it is a direct investment in the hardworking families and local small businesses striving to achieve their American Dream across our nation,” Britt (R-Motgomery) said.
“I’m proud to lead my colleagues in securing this historic win, which empowers parents, opens the door to more opportunities for their children, and tackles our nation’s urgent workforce needs to help unleash a new era of American prosperity.”

The senator reaffirmed her resolve to better the lives of all Americans through productive policy.
“Getting this bill over the finish line will send a strong message to the American people that we can and will get the job done to improve the affordability and accessibility of quality child care. I’ll continue to fight for pro-family, pro-Main Street, and pro-growth policies that strengthen our communities, our economy, and our nation.”
The legislation includes modernized and increased tax credits to improve the accessibility and affordability of child care: the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC), the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP), and the Employer-Provided Child Care Tax Credit (45F).
CDCTC and 45F have not been permanently updated since 2001. Since then, childcare costs have increased by 263%. DCAP has not been updated since 1986.
The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ was passed in the Senate by a vote of 51 to 50 with Vice President J.D. Vance casting the deciding vote.
Tuberville hailed the legislation as a necessary step in helping the U.S. reach its full potential.
“The road to Making America Great Again runs through the One Big Beautiful Bill. President Trump campaigned on popular policies like No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and No Tax on Social Security — and this bill turns those policies into law,” Tuberville (R-Auburn) said.

“We’re cutting taxes for everyone — doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, urban or rural, a CEO or a lineworker. We’re supporting farmers who have been crushed by Joe Biden’s inflation. We’re finishing the wall, hiring more ICE officers, and closing dangerous loopholes that allowed 20 million criminals, murderers, terrorists, and gang members to invade this country under Joe Biden. This bill also includes a down payment on the Golden Dome, which will allow Alabama to continue leading the way in building cutting-edge technologies that keep Americans safe.”
Tuberville revealed that the legislation contains a bill he personally introduced and sponsored.
“I’m especially proud it includes my GOAL Act, which is the first time Congress will put a reasonable cap on graduate student loans,” he said. “We are more than $37 trillion in debt, and we have to start standing up for American taxpayers.”
The ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, according to Tuberville, is the fulfillment of a commitment made by President Donald Trump to the American people.
“This bill codifies every part of President Trump’s agenda that 77 million Americans wholeheartedly voted for. President Trump promised, and Senate Republicans delivered.”
