U.S. Sen. Katie Britt took off the gloves today in an interview on “The Jeff Poor Show” when asked about the latest round of indictments against former President Donald Trump.
She said Trump is being prosecuted “because of where he stands on issues” and “what he was able to accomplish in the America First agenda.”
“People are sick of it,” she said. “And the American people are sick of seeing that we have a two-tier justice system in this country. We’ve gotten to the point where America is just done.
“We’re done with the way that Biden is handling things, we are done with the way that Merrick Garland is handling things, and people want this country to stand for and be a nation that we know and love.”
Britt tore into the contrast between the Biden and Trump presidencies.
She said there were no new wars under Trump, American foreign policy was resolute, and the world was a less dangerous place. In particular, she pointed to the recent $6 billion payment to Iran, the “disastrous” withdrawal from Afghanistan, the flow of illegal migrants crossing the border.
“And then, goodness gracious, we aren’t even talking about what’s in your pocket,” Britt told host Jeff Poor.
“You look at what Trump did. He was able to lower taxes, slash red tape. He was able to on-shore jobs,” she said. “He was able to unleash American energy. Gas and groceries were cheaper. Our 401ks were higher. And he put American families first – not coastal elites and not the prominent political class.
“I think America is just sick of President Biden going after political adversaries when that very same Justice Department is turning a blind eye to the acts of the Biden family and Hunter Biden. And it’s, it’s sickening.”

Britt doubled down, saying Hunter Biden “needs to be held accountable.”
“You can look at the numbers,” she said. “You can look at the bank accounts. You can look at the texts. You can listen to Hunter Biden’s own words. We’ve got to be, Jeff, a constitutional republic and not a banana republic.
“And I think there is no better example of the any discrepancies, the inefficiencies and just downright unlawfulness that we’re seeing from this Justice Department, then the way that you see President Trump be treated and think that they want to see Hunter Biden held accountable for what he’s done.”
Britt also offered an update on her health, saying that while she’s missed the opportunity to travel the state and meet with Alabamians during the August recess, she’s doing better, and enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with her two kids before they go back to school.
