Britt on mission to Middle East for ‘sustainable peace’

As war rages in Gaza, U.S. Senator Katie Britt announced her departure for an official congressional trip to the Middle East alongside a bipartisan group of Senate colleagues today.

On October 7, Hamas militants advanced over the Israeli border, committing widespread and indiscriminate acts of violence, which Britt called “pure evil” at a joint press conference with Senate leaders.

Today, she said she’s going to see for herself, announcing she’ll meet with strategic partners in the Middle East to emphasize the United States’ unequivocal support for Israel.

“This trip signifies our continued, unequivocal, and resounding support for Israel and the right to defend herself against the barbaric attacks on innocent children, women and men by Hamas terrorists,” Britt said in a recorded video message before departing.

“As a mom, as an American and as a Christian, I am absolutely horrified by what we’ve seen. On our trip, my colleagues and I will advocate for stability in the Middle East as we work towards long term sustainable peace that keeps Americans safe at home and abroad.”

Britt is the only freshman Senator among those in the delegation.

“I will continue to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the days and weeks and months ahead to ensure that Israel has everything it needs,” Britt said.

“Peace will only come through strength. The stability of the world, the region, the security of our own homeland, and the safety of our communities and families depend on it. Please pray for us in the coming days. Please pray for our great nation and please continue to pray for Israel. Thank you and God Bless.”

“What is happening in Israel is pure evil,” Sen. Katie Britt said at a joint press conference with Senate leaders. “Hamas terrorists don’t care how many men are killed, how many women are raped, and how many children — babies and toddlers — are kidnapped.” “We must stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel as they eradicate Hamas terrorists.”
