Former Auburn University and Oregon quarterback Bo Nix received some huge news on Wednesday afternoon when Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced Nix as the team’s starting quarterback to begin his rookie year.

The Pinson Valley native was selected with the No. 12 pick in last April’s NFL Draft, but whether or not he was going to start right away remained a question mark.
Nix beat out both Zach Wilson as well as fellow former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham for the job and becomes the team’s first rookie starting quarterback to begin a season since John Elway.

He has gone out and earned the job on the field this preseason, completing 23 of his 30 pass attempts with 205 passing yards, a 121.5 quarterback rating, and 2 passing touchdowns over the two preseason games.
After three seasons at Auburn, Nix left The Plains ahead of the 2022 season to head off to Oregon where he had two stellar years under Dan Lanning that saw him develop into a first-round selection.
Nix will officially take the field as Denver’s starting quarterback when they head to Seattle on September 8 to take on the Seahawks.
