Undercover inside a late-term abortion clinic

In the shocking video above, late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart is caught on camera discussing with a woman in her 26th week of pregnancy the chilling details of a late-term abortion.

According to the Weekly Standard, “Carhart is something of a rockstar among the “reproductive rights” community. The two Supreme Court decisions on partial-birth abortion bear his name: Stenberg v. Carhart, which overturned the state of Nebraska’s ban in 2000, and Gonzales v. Carhart, which upheld the federal ban in 2007. The subject of a film screened at Sundance and a Newsweek puff piece, Carhart has been portrayed in the media as a heroic man willing to face threats of violence in order to help women procure abortions in the second and third trimester of pregnancy.”

In the video, which was filmed by undercover investigative reporters, Carhart explains a three step process in which he will inject the child through the woman’s stomach with a chemical that will kill it, then induce labor, then deliver the dead child just as he would a live baby.

When the undercover investigator in the video expresses concerns to Dr. Carhart about having a dead baby inside of her for three days after the procedure, Carhart responds, “It’s like putting meat in a crock pot, okay? It just gets softer.” He then explains that once the dead baby is soft enough, it can be delivered.

The undercover investigator asks later what happens if there are complications. Here’s a brief transcript of the ensuing conversation:

Woman: But if we run into trouble and for some reason I’m not able to deliver, you’ll be able to get it out in pieces?

Dr. Carhart: We’d take it out.

Woman: What do you use to break it up? Just–

Dr. Carhart: A whole bunch of–

Woman: You’ve got a toolkit.

Dr. Carhart: A pickaxe, a drill bit, yeah (laughs).

And just when you think it can’t get any worse, the undercover investigator asks what would happen if she wasn’t near the doctor when she went into labor to deliver the dead child.

Woman: But if I do end up going into labor… you’ll come clean it up?…

Dr. Carhart: Yea, we’ll take care of that… We give everybody a little pack to put stuff in, in case it does happen…

Woman: A pack?

Dr. Carhart: A pack of little drapes and sheets and gloves and all those things, so that if you had to do something… you’ve already got the stuff to take care of it.

Woman: A bag to put the baby in. Okay.

Last week, the same undercover investigators released several videos as part of a six-month undercover investigation shedding light on the illegal and inhuman practices of numerous abortion centers throughout the United States.

In one video, a Bronx, NY abortion counselor describing how a born-alive baby would be placed in a jar of toxic “solution” to ensure death. In another, a D.C. doctor described how he would leave a baby born alive after a botched abortion to die. And in a third, a Phoenix, AZ clinic worker said she “would not resuscitate” a baby if it were born alive after a failed abortion.

The group of investigative reporters is calling for Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Attorney’s office to launch an investigation and prosecute those who are found to have violated federal law.
