A U.S. District Judge sentenced two Birmingham brothers to prison for their role in an interstate stolen goods scheme.

Judge Madeline Haikala sentenced Abdurrahman Amar, 32, to 34 months and Yahya Amar, 33, to 30 months after they pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport stolen goods across state lines.

According to abc3340, from January 2022 to December 2023, Amar organized a network of thieves who stole electronics and tools from retailers, including Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. The stolen items were sold online—mainly through eBay and Facebook—at discounted prices. The brothers then shipped the goods to buyers across the U.S. and internationally.

Their operation ended with criminal charges, reinforcing the reality that crime doesn’t pay—especially if you get caught.
