The Business Council of Alabama’s political arm, ProgressPAC, made its endorsement this week for Jody Linton in Alabama House District 91 — the Wiregrass seat currently held by State Rep. Rhett Marques (R-Enterprise), who is running for Congress in 2026.
HD91 will be on the ballot for the May 19, 2026 primary election, and BCA says Jody Linton is a small-business owner, fiscal conservative, and community leader who understands what it takes to grow Alabama’s economy.
“Jody Linton brings exactly the kind of real-world experience and common-sense leadership our state needs,” said Helena Duncan, BCA President and CEO.
“He has spent decades creating jobs, balancing budgets, and helping businesses succeed — not in theory, but in practice. ProgressPAC is proud to stand behind a candidate who will put Alabama families, workers, and small businesses first.”
According to BCA, Linton is an entrepreneur and graduate of Troy University who has built multiple successful businesses over the last 25 years.
He has also spent more than a decade working with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, one of Alabama’s leading accounting firms, where he helped businesses strengthen their finances, improve efficiency, and plan for long-term success.
“State House District 91 deserves a representative who understands fiscal discipline and responsible leadership,” said Alan Clark, ProgressPAC Regional Advisory Committee Chair for the southeast region of the state.
“Jody has a track record of doing things the right way — managing money wisely, serving his community, and standing firm on smart business principles. He will be a strong voice in Montgomery for limited government and small businesses.”
Linton is currently the only candidate in the race and no challengers have announced their intention to run. He currently has a campaign cash-on-hand balance of $22,900 headed into 2026, now just over 150 days until the primary election.
