Republican Tommy Battle raised more money than all of the other candidates who have filed their June reports for the 2018 Alabama gubernatorial campaign. The Huntsville Mayor has raised $356,133 since June 5th.

“I’m so grateful for all of the support we’ve received so far,” Battle said in his press release. “It’s amazing what we’ve all done as a team in a matter of weeks.”

Battle’s campaign is focused on job creation through economic development and fiscal responsibility. “Recruitment of new industry and promoting existing industry is a top priority. The people of Alabama are ready to lead our nation’s workforce into the next century. Our message to them is that we’re ready to lead them there and to build a stronger Alabama for all of Alabama,” said Battle.

Nick Lough, Battle’s campaign spokesman echoed the Mayor’s sentiments:

We are very excited by the response of our first month of fundraising efforts. It takes a team effort to get to this point and Tommy Battle is grateful for all of the support he’s received so early on. Moving forward, the plan is to continue to raise money, visit communities across the state, and get people ready to ‘Battle For Alabama.’ Our campaign isn’t against anyone, it’s for the people of Alabama and for our state’s future.
