U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is defending the Trump administration after a conversation from top national security officials was leaked to The Atlantic.
According to journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief for the Atlantic, he was accidently added to a conversation that some of President Donald Trump’s national security team was having on the messaging app Signal.
Among those in the chat group include Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Vice President J.D. Vance. The group was discussing whether the time was right for a military strike against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Many Democrats expressed outrage that the Trump administration would have such a high level national security conversation on such an unsecure platform.
Moore disagrees with those on the opposite side of the aisle and claimed that many are making too much of the story.
The congressman posted a thread to X in which he explained “What the media isn’t telling you about the Signal story.”
“No classified information was shared,” Moore said. “The Biden Administration allowed the Houthis to shoot at U.S. Naval ships and shutdown commercial traffic through the Red Sea. The Trump Administration has stepped up where the Biden Administration failed. The Trump Administration is well coordinated and focused on their mission to institute peace through strength. President Trump has and will continue to stand up to terrorism around the world.”
