U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) believes some of the extreme rhetoric from the left-wing in America is contributing to political violence in the country, including the shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas Wednesday.

Authorities identified 29-year old Joshua Jahn as the suspect who opened fire at the ICE facility Wednesday morning, killing two detainees before turning the gun on himself.

A photo posted on X by FBI Director Kash Patel showed that the rounds were engraved with an “anti-ICE” message.

Moore, who is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2026, reacted to the attack Wednesday on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”

“Well, I think it’s a continued escalation of violence by the left, it seems like, in this country,” Moore said. “And it starts with rhetoric, as it always does, and then you start seeing them push back against the authority. And in this case, it was  ICE trying to do their jobs and round up some of these folks that need to be rounded up and taken out of the country, whether they’re TDA, MS-13, that they’re here illegally, whatever that looks like.”

The congressman said most of the recent political violence in the country has been against those on the right.

“And so as a society, it seems like the left continues to move towards violence,” he argued, “and the anti gun crowd are always the ones with the guns shooting at the conservatives who are just trying to do the right thing for the country and agents who are hired and paid by us to clean up the mess that was made under Joe Biden’s open border policies.

Moore said law enforcement needs our support now more than ever.

“So it’s unfortunate Yaffee, and there has to be consequences,” he said, “and we have to continue to support law enforcement, whatever that looks like as a society. We have to start standing for law and order, and we can allow this sort of chaos to continue.”

He also thinks conservative have to continue to be bold and stand up for what is right.

“Now we have to speak truth in darkness, and it’s a spiritual battle,” he said. “It is a spiritual battle for the future of our country, and I think that it’s absolutely evil what we’re seeing happen on the other side, and that’s why we have to condemn this sort of stuff. And we have to understand the battle we are fighting.”
