Barry Moore: ‘Biden’s three lies’

Last week, the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees received a troubling response to our subpoena of Hunter Biden. House Republicans want Hunter Biden to answer to the American people about his father’s involvement in his business dealings.

Because Hunter Biden is used to getting a sweetheart deal, he has refused to sit for a traditional deposition and has only agreed to a public hearing where he has the opportunity to plead the Fifth.

Hunter Biden’s attempt to dodge the legal process demonstrates why we need a vote on a formal impeachment inquiry. It is likely that more witnesses we request documents and testimony from will try to challenge our subpoenas in court to avoid giving information. But if a majority of the House of Representatives get behind this inquiry, it will be difficult for the courts to deny us.

The Democrats and the media will tell you Republicans haven’t found enough evidence to justify an impeachment inquiry – that is a bold-faced lie. Just this week, the Ways and Means Committee uncovered 327 emails that prove President Biden was involved in his son’s business dealings.

Furthermore, a recent subpoena for Biden family bank records revealed the Bidens and their associates raked in $24 million through 20 shell companies between 2015 and 2019 by selling then-Vice President Biden as a brand. Those same records show Hunter Biden’s business account, Owasco PC, received payments from Chinese-state linked companies and other foreign nationals.

Thanks to this evidence, we know President Biden has told at least three lies. He said he never spoke to his son about his family’s business dealings – our findings prove otherwise. Biden said there was an “absolute wall” between his official government duties as Vice President and his family, but the facts show he used his title to participate in influence peddling schemes. He also claimed he never took money from China, but some of the funds flowing into Hunter’s business account came from Chinese state-linked companies.

Congress has a constitutional duty to conduct oversight on behalf of the American people. There is more than enough alarming evidence to proceed with a formal impeachment inquiry vote. Republicans aren’t interested in playing politics; we’re interested in protecting our country.

I look forward to working with Chairman Jim Jordan on the Judiciary Committee to follow where the facts lead us.
