U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) believes he is the best person to service as a Senator for Alabama because he has consistently supported President Donald Trump since 2015.

Moore, who has served in Congress since 2020, launched his campaign for the U.S. Senate last week and promised to continue his support of Trump’s “America First” agenda if elected to the higher chamber.

The congressman discussed his campaign during a recent appearance on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”

“We have to have people Yaffee that we know that [will have] President Trump’s back, and are true conservatives,” Moore argued. “Alabama is a conservative state, one of the top Trump states in the nation. And so I was the first elected official in nation endorsed Trump actually…And so it I’ve been with him since the beginning.”

Moore recalled why he decided to be one of the first elected officials to support Trump during the 2016 Presidential election.

“We were in Ladd-Peebles Stadium stadium,” Moore explained, “and we were in an RV on the south end of the stadium, and somebody knocked on the door with Trump Alabama said, ‘Would any of you guys be willing to endorse?’ And Heather and I went down the hall and said a prayer. And look, there were 17 people in that primary, Republicans, just the primary. He had a less than 1% chance of getting the nomination, and the conventional wisdom was he could not beat Hillary Clinton, but we got a piece about endorsing him that day, and as we were going through the tunnel towards the stage, there were four of us that were willing to endorse out of hundreds of elected officials. And a friend asked that, ‘You want to go first, you want to go last?’ And I said, I guess I’ll go first. So I became the first elected official in the nation.”

Moore also touted his conservative record in the state legislature and as a member of Congress.

“I was labeled the most dependable conservative vote in the legislature,” he said. “So when we send people to DC, very often, we wonder what happened, but I just don’t change. You know, I’ve been with President Trump since day one. I’ve moved 100% of the agenda through Congress. I’ve stood with the man through some incredibly hard times, and I’ll continue to stand with him, not because he’s perfect, but I believe he’s God’s man for this time in the nation. And so we’ve been with him since day one. And aside from being a Trump supporter, I’m a true conservative. If you look at my scores, I have the highest Liberty score in the delegation coming out of the state, and so I’ve just been one of those guys that holds the line. I don’t try to grandstand on that stuff. I just go vote my convictions.”

recent poll showed that Marshall was leading the race with 24%, and Moore at 8.8%.
