Vice President Kamala Harris made headlines Tuesday afternoon when she announced that she has selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. By appointing Walz, Harris passed over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who many thought was the likely pick and is seen by the media as significantly more moderate than Walz.
Some have speculated that Shapiro was passed over due to antisemitism from the far left during the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
An account on X, representing itself as the Jewish Democratic Council of America, tweeted that Walz is a great choice. Many pointed out the hypocrisy, claiming that Walz was chosen due to antisemitism from the left.
One account shared a photo of Walz posing with Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2018, prompting Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl to comment.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) maintains a national profile for her anti-Israel policy positions and her support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, as well as a track record of antisemitic rhetoric.
They say a picture paints 1000 words! The Democratic VP candidate says he looks forward to getting out the vote with Ilhan Omar! That says enough for me! @AIPAC https://t.co/z8paodQciE
