It’s officially Iron Bowl week in the Yellowhammer State — and the big game already has some players acting absolutely insane.
Auburn freshman linebacker DeMarcus Riddick, an in-state former Chilton County standout who both Auburn and Alabama were battling for, was asked about the prospect of facing fellow freshman superstar wide receiver Ryan Williams and had an eye-popping response:
Auburn linebacker DeMarcus Riddick on Alabama:
“[Ryan Williams] ain’t really nobody to me.
Every rival team I played I never lost to. I will not to lose Bama while I’m here.”

“Ryan Williams is Ryan Williams, I mean yeah he’s electric he’s all this and that, but in my eyes he ain’t really nobody to me,” Riddick said. “Ryan Williams is himself, he ain’t no big time player to me.”
Riddick went on to make a wild claim which sounded a whole lot like a guaranteed victory for Auburn.
“Bama is a big rival team, every rival team I played I never lost to, and I will not lose to Bama while I’m here,” Riddick said, adding a third ridiculous quote about Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. “I mean, he is a good quarterback, he’s fast. But he’s not faster than me…he will not get out of the box this week.”
Giving a Tide team that is likely already a little bit down after the domination at the hands of Oklahoma ahead of an Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa – a place Auburn has not won since 2010 – is certainly a bold strategy from the young linebacker.
Seeing if it pays off for him has now instantly become one of the biggest stories going into the game.
