The Auburn Tigers wrote another chapter in this storybook season on Wednesday night, destroying a solid Ole Miss Rebels team by a score of 106-76 in a game the Tigers led wire to wire.
With a big 50-point first half, Auburn set themselves up well headed into the second frame but only led by 10 at the break after allowing the Rebels to score 40.

As has been the case countless times throughout the season, Johni Broome continued his potential National Player of the Year case by leading Auburn in scoring and rebounds with 24 and nine, adding four assists as well. It was a milestone night for Broome, who became just the 86th player in the history of Division 1 college basketball to eclipse the 2,500 career points mark.

Chad Baker-Mazara had a huge night of his own with 22 points while Denver Jones, Miles Kelly, and Chaney Johnson added 13 points each.
With the win, Auburn moves to 26-2 on the season and 14-1 in the conference, maintaining a two game lead over the 12-3 Alabama Crimson Tide. Now with just three games remaining, the Tigers only need to win one of their next two road games against Kentucky and Texas A&M to clinch at least a share of the SEC regular season title while two wins would lock up the sole title before the rematch against Alabama on The Plains in the final game of the year.
Regardless, it’s another step for Auburn on the road to ending this special regular season on the highest of notes in the most difficult conference in the sport.
