Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama endorses Katie Britt for U.S. Senate

Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Katie Britt has landed the endorsement of the ABC Merit PAC, the political arm of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama.

According to a release, Alabama’s commercial construction industry is a $12 billion annual business, employs around 156,000 people full-time, and generates a payroll of more than $6 billion per year.

In announcing the association’s endorsement of her candidacy, ABC of Alabama chairman Deepa Bhate asserted that Britt would fight to preserve free market capitalism.

“We are excited to support Katie Britt’s campaign to serve as the next U.S. Senator for Alabama,” said Bhate. “Katie will protect our country’s free enterprise system and champion growing enhanced opportunity and good-paying jobs for all hardworking Alabamians, regardless of their zip code.”

Bhate added, “From education and skills training to mental health and the opioid epidemic, Katie is focused on finding solutions for the challenges facing Alabama industry, job creators and families. We are confident she will make Alabama proud, and we look forward to working with her to build our state’s strong future.”

Britt stated her intentions to support Alabama’s construction industry as a member of the U.S. Senate.

“I am proud to have the endorsement of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Alabama chapter. Our state’s construction industry showcases the hard work, skill and innovation that defines Alabama,” proclaimed Britt. “I will always fight to build an environment that rewards these traits and allows Alabama families to thrive in safe, strong communities. The American Dream is one of opportunity for all, not entitlement for any. Together, we will preserve this Dream and save the country we know and love for our children and our children’s children.”

The primary election will take place on May 24, 2022.
