An Easter message from Barry Moore: This day proves the cross was not the end

In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes a powerful declaration, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Those words are not just a promise, they are foundational to our hope in Christ. Easter is a time where we celebrate the reality behind Christ’s promise.

Jesus Christ willingly stepped into the brokenness of our world. He was mocked, beaten, and nailed to a cross – not for anything He had done, He was perfect and blameless, but for everything we have done. For every sin, every failure, and every moment we fall short, Christ carries it all. The weight of the world’s sin was placed on His shoulders, and He bore it out of a love deeper than we can fully understand.

The sinless Son of God became the substitute for sinners.

On the third day, the stone was rolled away and Jesus walked out of the grave. The resurrection of Jesus is not simply a message of inspiration – it is a victory that changed everything. It is the fulfillment of His promise in John 11.

Christ is the resurrection and the life because before there was an empty tomb, there was a cross soaked in suffering.

But still, the question remains – “Do you believe this?”

That question matters because it influences how we live today. A faith rooted in the risen Christ shapes our convictions, our character, and our courage. It calls us to live with purpose and to stand firmly in truth, even when our culture pulls us in another direction. Our faith influences our families, the values we pass down, and the example we set for generations after us.

Our world is increasingly searching for meaning and hope, but that meaning and hope is only found in the truth of the Gospel. Not political power, not cultural trends, but a risen Savior who conquered sin and death.

This Easter, I encourage you to reflect not only on the empty tomb, but on the cross that came before it and the deep, unending love that made it necessary.

If you’ve never considered Christ’s question, consider it now. If your faith has grown distant, come back to the foot of the cross. If you’ve been carrying burdens, lay them down.

The same power that rolled the stone away can bring new life to you today.

When I was elected to Congress, I pledged that I would stay grounded in my faith. I promised that Washington would not deter me from standing for the values and convictions that have guided my life since I accepted Christ. That unshakeable faith that I hold is the foundation of everything I do.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter. He is Risen!
