Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) brought a moment of comfort and holiday cheer to young patients this week during a visit to Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile.

Troopers from ALEA’s Mobile and Grove Hill posts delivered Trooper Teddy Bears to children receiving care at the hospital, offering reassurance and smiles to patients who may be facing difficult days away from home during the holiday season. The visit reflected ALEA’s emphasis on service that extends beyond traditional law enforcement responsibilities and into compassion and community support.

The Trooper Teddy Bear program is a longstanding initiative supported by the Alabama State Trooper Association. Every state trooper on the road is equipped with a teddy bear to offer comfort to children who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events, including automobile accidents.

During the Christmas season, troopers and association members also visit hospitals across Alabama, delivering bears to children who are unable to spend the holidays at home with their families. The effort underscores ALEA’s commitment to kindness, reassurance and community presence, particularly during times when children and families may be facing added emotional stress.

ALEA also acknowledged the dedication of hospital staff who care for young patients year-round and emphasized that even small gestures can make a meaningful difference for children and their families during the holidays.
