Alabama’s retro jerseys voted ‘uniforms of the year’

For the first time in a very long time, the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball program revealed a new uniform combination during this past season.

The ‘retro’ style threads featuring the classic Block A logo on the shorts were voted as the ‘uniform of the year’ in college basketball by popular social media page Uniswag.

First debuting the new uniform against Texas A&M back on February 17, the Tide broke in the jerseys with a bang and a 25-point home win.

The Tide would go on to wear the uniforms sporadically throughout the rest of the season including during the NCAA Tournament when it was the higher ranked team and allowed to wear home white.

A 4-2 record while wearing them could signal good luck moving forward.

The peak, of course, was the Elite Eight victory over Clemson in which Alabama donned the jerseys once again and reached the program’s first-ever Final Four via the best shooting game of the tournament for the team.

Exactly what the roster will look like and who will be wearing the uniforms remains somewhat of a mystery, but one thing that is not a mystery is the fact that you can probably count on the popular look being back in some capacity next season.
