Alabama’s Marion Military Institute named one of nation’s best community colleges

Marion Military Institute (MMI) has been named as the seventh-best community college in the United States.

Niche recently released its 2020 “Best Colleges” rankings, which featured separate rankings for two- and four-year colleges and universities.

MMI is a public military junior college in Marion, Alabama. Founded in 1842, it is the official state military college of Alabama and the nation’s oldest military junior college.

Niche ranked MMI as the Yellowhammer State’s top community college, as well as one of the nation’s best.

The institute’s highest marks were for its professors, diversity and value.

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) celebrated this achievement.
