Dothan-based AAA Cooper Transportation has once again been named as one of the nation’s best midsize employers by Forbes.
To compile the 2021 rankings, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista by surveying 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own. Afterward, the 500 top midsize and 500 top large employers were recognized in two respective lists.
This is the fifth consecutive year in which Forbes has published these annual rankings that AAA Cooper was honored; the list was not published last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For 2021, the trucking company landed at No. 297 on the list.
Scott Bowers, AAA Cooper Transportation’s vice president of Human Resources and Risk Management, said in a statement, “AAA Cooper Transportation is thrilled to be on the 2021 Forbes Best Midsize Employers list. Being recognized for a 5th consecutive year reflects a commitment to creating strong relationships based on respect, trust, and decency. I am grateful to all of our team members that exhibit these values making this recognition possible.”
AAA Cooper is one of the 50 largest ground transportation companies in the United States, with 5,000 employees delivering innovative transportation solutions to customers across the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest.
Other Alabama-based companies were also honored on Forbes’ latest midsize employer list, including Huntsville’s COLSA (No. 17) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (No. 32).
As previously reported by Yellowhammer News, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) was named as 2021’s top large employer by Forbes.
