Alabama to Augusta: Nick Dunlap headed to 2024 Masters

Huntsville native and Alabama star golfer Nick Dunlap has received his invitation to the most iconic stage in all of golf. He announced today he’s playing in the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Back in August, Dunlap became just the second Crimson Tide golfer to win the U.S. Amateur, which earned him qualification into the 2024 Masters, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship.

Dunlap has had quite the past year, both individually and for the Crimson Tide. He was the top golfer on the team for Alabama in the fall season, averaging 67.00 strokes per round and four under par.

The last Alabama golfer to win the U.S. Amateur was Jerry Pate in 1974, and Pate won the U.S. Open two years after that.

Even more incredibly, Dunlap joins Tiger Woods as the only two golfers in history to win both the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Junior Amateur, which Dunlap did in 2021.

Dunlap has played in the last two U.S. Opens as well as an amateur, having to qualify for both but will now have an exemption in 2024 due to his U.S. Amateur victory.

Keep an eye on Dunlap as the next Alabama superstar in the game of golf.
