‘Alabama stands ready to support his mission!’ – Elected officials celebrate Trump’s inauguration

Many of Alabama’s political leaders celebrated President Donald Trump’s inauguration Monday as they look forward to helping him implement his agenda.

Trump took the oath of office to become the 47th President of the United States and gave his inaugural address inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, deciding not to hold the ceremonies outside because of the cold weather.

“The golden age of America begins right now,” Trump said in his address. “From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world.”

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) also attended and shared word in support of Trump’s immediate actions, including on matters of immigration reform, saying once and for all there are only male and female genders, and that, “The Great American Comeback begins.”

“After four years of dangerous open borders, soaring inflation, out-of-control crime, and disastrous foreign policy, the national nightmare is finally over. The American people overwhelmingly delivered a mandate on November 5: they want President Trump’s agenda, and they want it now,” Tuberville said.

“During his first term, President Trump delivered the most secure border in history, a booming economy, law and order in our communities, and peace on the world stage—and today he will pick right back up where he left off. I look forward to working hand in glove with President Trump to Make America Great Again.”

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey praised the inauguration and promised to help the new President’s agenda.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall also celebrated Trump’s inauguration and said he had to fight the Biden administration’s policies for the last four years.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery), who attended the ceremony, said she looks forward to helping Trump “Make America Great Again!.”

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) was also at the inauguration and said Trump has a “mandate” to get things done for the American people.

“Today is the day we have been waiting for. Donald J. Trump overcame every attempt by the establishment to stop him,” Strong said in a statement.

“His election came as an overwhelming mandate by the American people—to secure the borders, restore our economy, unleash American energy, and re-establish the United States as a respected world leader. He did not have to fight through this adversity, but he did. Today marks a new beginning. I am honored to serve the people alongside President Donald J. Trump, and I look forward to Making America Great Again. Our time is NOW!!”
