Alabama’s softball success has been built on more than wins and trophies, a point highlighted this weekend when head coach Patrick Murphy officiated the wedding of a former Crimson Tide player.

Murphy has been in charge of the program since 2000, and in 2012, brought Alabama its only softball national title in school history.

This week, the longtime head coach had a special reunion with one of the stars from that triumphant title team.

Murphy officiated the wedding of utility player Amanda Locke and her wife Allison, posting a few different photos from the wedding day on his Instagram.

Locke has spent time coaching since her playing days and even had a stint as the head coach of Birmingham-Southern after being hired in 2021.

With 54 career home runs, she ranks third in Alabama program history and eighth all time in RBIs, bringing 161 runs across the plate.

Her season in 2012 to help the team to a title was one of the best offensive campaigns in school history, with a batting average of .315 along with 18 home runs and 56 RBI, as well as a slugging percentage over .700.

Murphy will begin his 27th season as Alabama’s head coach next month.
