Alabama Secretary of State Merrill on USPS: Does anybody think this inefficiency is new?

The latest attempt by the media and their Democrats to drum up faux-outrage and, hopefully, support from an easily outraged populace is by highlighting President Donald Trump’s vicious attack on one America’s most beloved institutions: The United States Postal Service.

You see, the USPS was not a failing bureaucratic nightmare of inefficiency that lost $69 billion over the last 11 years. It is a well-oiled machine that “KiLLS FaSCiSTS.”

They are serious.

How? With the issue of the week, mail-in-voting.

People can’t be expected to go to the polls because part of the narrative is that if you go out of your house for any reason other than to protest in favor of the “Black Lives Matter” movement you are an irresponsible murderer.

This argument exists even without a single outbreak tied to voting, as much as they tried to create one.

President Trump was unhappy that Democrats had spiked the latest relief efforts over attempts to cram in a ton of left-wing policy items that they insisted be included.

The deal fell apart and the president gave the Democrats the line they needed:

But they turned down this bill because they want radical-left agenda items that nobody in their right mind would approve. . . . And the bill is not going to happen because they don’t even want to talk about it because we can’t give them the kind of ridiculous things that they want that have nothing to do with [Covid-19]. So, therefore, they don’t have the money to do the universal mail-in voting. So, therefore, they can’t do it, I guess. Right?

Now clearly, he is talking about using this as a negotiation ploy, but the media and their Democrats are hell-bent on lying about what is actually happening.

So, now we are in a love affair with the post office, and we are pretending they are under assault.

They aren’t.

This is the status quo: An inefficient government agency that is unable to respond to changes and crises.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill appeared on WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show” on Monday to talk about the challenges facing the electoral system in November. He made it clear that he believes there will be huge turnout, record absentee ballot requests, and the number of people mailing in their ballot will break records, as well.

This, of course, nukes the narratives of voter suppression and confusion, but we will hear it for the next 80+ days if Trump loses and forever if he wins.

When faced with questions about the USPS’s issues and how they may affect the elections, he was crystal clear by asking rhetorically, “Does anybody think this is new? Because the post office is the most ineffective, inefficient and inoperable governmental entity that our people come into contact with on a daily basis.”

He noted that “everybody knows and acknowledges that, so why anybody would think that it’s news that the postal service is going to have a hard time delivering ballots or absentee applications or anything related to the election is news to me.”

But Merrill also understands that it is his job to help this election go off without a hitch. He offered advice to anyone who is concerned about their vote counting ask for an absentee ballot and vote absentee as soon as they get the ballot.

My takeaway:

Trump and presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden will be on the ballot, and you can cast that vote absentee as soon as you get the ballot.

U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) and former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville are on the ballot, and you can cast that vote absentee as soon as you get the ballot.

You can vote absentee as soon as you get the ballot, and you can vote early. You do not have to wait until the last minute. You can even do like you have done your entire life and vote in person on Election Day.

Voting is easier today than it has ever been.

Absentee ballots are being requested right now. Do it so the totally evil president doesn’t use the totally evil and totally recently incompetent USPS to disenfranchise you.

If you miss your ability to vote in November, it is on you. It’s not on Merrill, Trump or the United States Postal Service.
