Alabama rolls over Wisconsin in 42-10 road win

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday afternoon in Madison by a score of 42-10 behind a huge performance from quarterback Jalen Milroe.

After a shaky effort from both Milroe and the offensive line last Saturday against South Florida, the team did not mess around when it came to their Big Ten opponent. Things started poorly for Wisconsin after Badgers quarterback Tyler Van Dyke was injured on the team’s first series and did not return.

While Wisconsin put the first points of the game on the board with a first-quarter field goal, it wasn’t long before the Tide struck back on a 32-yard strike from Milroe to freshman sensation Ryan Williams, the fourth receiving touchdown of the young season for the youngest player in college football:

Milroe put the Tide up 14-3 early in the second quarter with his fifth rushing touchdown of the season. Then, on the last possession of the half, a bomb to Williams along with a 26-yard dime to Germie Bernard gave Alabama a two-play touchdown drive to take a 21-3 lead into the locker room:

Jam Miller opened things up early in the third quarter and the blowout was on, scoring from 34 yards out and giving Alabama a 28-3 lead:

Milroe rushed and threw for another touchdown, including Josh Cuevas’ first in an Alabama uniform, with the Tide’s quarterback accounting for a total of five of the six Alabama touchdowns:

Milroe finished the game 12 of 17 for 196 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 75 rushing yards and 2 rushing scores. Williams once again led the team in receiving with four receptions for 78 yards and the early touchdown, while Jihaad Campbell, Deontae Lawson, and Malachi Moore led the charge on defense with a combined 22 tackles for the big three.

Next up, it’s a bye week for Alabama before hosting the Georgia Bulldogs on September 28 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
