Members of the Alabama Republican Congressional delegation are making sure their constituents understand the positive results of the recently passed ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill.’
President Donald Trump signed his signature budgetary package — the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act, on July 4th. The legislation passed by a slim margin in the Senate and the House before reaching the President. Every Republican member of Alabama’s congressional delegation voted in favor of the measure.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) promoted the education benefits that were included in the bill.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill provides $60 million in scholarships for students at 1890 Institutions, boosting educational and career opportunities for students in fields like agriculture, food science, and natural resources,” Britt said. “Proud to advocate for this investment to support Alabama’s HBCUs.”

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) said he expects his party to gain more seats in the 2026 midterm elections because of the bill’s passage.
“Well, I haven’t had a lot of discussion with my colleagues about it, but my own personal observations are I think we have a chance to actually increase our majority in the House,” Palmer said on Talk 99.5 radio. “Again, because the Democrat policies are so stupid, frankly. But think about this: They opposed this bill, which had it failed, Americans would have faced a $4 trillion tax increase starting January 1 this next year. So, they wanted to impose a $4 trillion tax increase. I think if we get out and talk frankly and honestly about what we’re doing, the public’s going to be with us.”
