4 DAYS REMAINING IN THE 2024 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

Alabama Republican Party: Biden ‘disrespecting’ Christians, Americans by declaring Easter as transgender ‘Day of Visibility’

The Alabama Republican Party has joined the growing chorus of national opposition to the Biden Administration’s declaration to celebrate a ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’ on Easter Sunday.

Chairman of the Party, John Wahl, issued a statement Monday regarding the highly controversial move that also placed a ban on any religious imagery during the day’s traditional Easter egg competition.

In the statement, Wahl accused Biden of blatant disrespect towards Christianity.

“This weekend it became clear that the values of the Biden Administration are not in line with the values of Christianity. President Joe Biden declared that yesterday, Resurrection Day, would be celebrated as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility.’ Joe Biden didn’t forget that we are a nation under God, or that March 31st was Easter Sunday,” said Wahl.

“Instead, he chose to prioritize Transgender Day of Visibility over Easter Sunday, laughing in the face of God and disrespecting the holiest of Christian holidays.”

The Chairman also contrasted Biden’s Easter Message with that of former President Trump’s.

“The Alabama Republican Party stands in opposition to the Biden Administration’s declaration. Instead, we agree with Former President Trump’s statement: ‘We remember the suffering and death of God’s only son and His glorious resurrection… On Easter Sunday, we proclaim with joy, Christ is Risen.’

According to Wahl, America was founded first and foremost on faith.

“The Declaration of Independence clearly states that our rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness come from our Creator. If we forsake that understanding, the next logical step is that we will lose those fundamental rights and freedoms that make us Americans.”

Wahl and the ALGOP are now calling on the Biden Administration to apologize for the decision.

“The Alabama Republican Party calls on the Biden Administration to humble themselves and apologize to Christians across America for the disrespect shown to the Christian faith this Easter weekend.”
