In an effort to help alleviate the financial strain and inconvenience of unexpected home repairs, Alabama Power is collaborating with HomeServe, a leading provider of home repair solutions.
The venture will offer residential customers a comprehensive repair service program, easing the challenges often associated with urgent home maintenance issues, Alabama Power said.
“When something goes wrong in your home, it can be inconvenient, financially stressful and worrying,” said Sean Hopkins, Alabama Power Products and Services manager.
“With this program, our customers can opt into a repair service plan that will help alleviate some of the challenges that come along with an unexpected home repair. This is another way we are looking out for our customers every day.”

The program, administered by HomeServe, allows Alabama Power customers to choose plans covering repair needs. These include customer-owned exterior electrical equipment linking homes to Alabama Power’s distribution system, in-home electrical wiring issues, and repairs for appliances and consumer electronics damaged by power surges.
These repairs, often costly and not typically covered by standard homeowner insurance, can now be managed more efficiently, the utility said. Plan holders will have access to HomeServe’s 24/7 repair hotline, ensuring prompt service from local, licensed, and insured electricians and other professionals.
Alabama Power customers will soon receive information in the mail about the service.
Participation in the program is completely voluntary. For information, visit www.homeserve.com or call HomeServe toll free at 1-833-492-3893.
