Alabama Power has been named one of the most trustworthy companies in America for 2026, ranking No. 8 in the Energy & Utilities category on Newsweek’s annual list index tracking exactly that.
The 2026 edition of “Most Trustworthy Companies in America” is produced in partnership with global market research firm Statista.
It evaluates 700 companies across 23 industries based on an independent survey of approximately 25,000 Americans who submitted more than 100,000 evaluations as customers, employees, and investors.
Respondents weighed in as customers, employees, and investors. These are the three constituencies whose confidence ultimately determines whether a brand earns the word “trustworthy” or just claims it, according to their study.

The analysis also factored in online media sentiment. In fact, Newsweek excluded any company tied to major recent scandals or lawsuits connected to trust-related issues. Making the cut at all means a company cleared a legitimate national bar.
Alabama Power was one of just four Alabama-based companies recognized on the 2026 list:
- Alabama Power (Birmingham) No. 8, Energy & Utilities
- Construction Partners (Dothan) No. 4, Construction
- AMN Healthcare (Birmingham)
- Hibbett (Birmingham)
