Alabama Senate District 2 Democratic nominee Rudolph Valentino Drake was subject to a Florida court’s final injunction for protection against stalking in 2022.

Court records reviewed by Yellowhammer News show a judge found Drake’s former romantic partner was a victim of stalking and ordered Drake to stay away from her, her workplace, residence, and vehicle. Drake confirmed he was the person named in the proceedings.

The case was civil, and the records reviewed did not show a related criminal charge or conviction.

Drake faces Republican John Roberts for the open seat currently held by Alabama State Sen. Tom Butler (R-Madison), who isn’t seeking reelection.
