Alabama’s Republican delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives praised the passage of President Donald Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful, Bill,’ in the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday.
The 1,000 page bill passed by a vote of 215-214, with no Democrats voting in favor of the measure. The bill includes extending the 2017 tax cuts while also adding no tax on tips and no tax on overtime pay. The legislation also adds work requirements for Medicaid benefits, increased spending for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and brings back the State and Local Income Tax (SALT) deduction.
“This is not just legislation, it’s a promise kept to the American people. It’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-growth—and it’s exactly what our country needs right now,” said U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville). “I’m proud to support President Trump’s promise to deliver historic tax relief and put money back in the pockets of American families, secure our southern border, strengthen our national security, and right-size wasteful government spending.”

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) said this bill will secure our nation and our borders, spur economic growth, and improve accountability to taxpayers.
“After years of chronic underinvestment, our defense industrial base and military capacity have dangerously atrophied to the point where we may no longer be able to sustain a prolonged conflict,” Rogers said. “Without this generational investment in national defense, we will no longer be able to deter our adversaries or ensure America’s global leadership. The One Big, Beautiful Bill provides long overdue resources to modernize our military, revitalize the defense industrial base, and improve the quality of life for our servicemembers. The House and Senate Armed Services Committees worked closely together and with the White House to develop this critical legislation, and Speaker Johnson has worked closely with all of the committees involved to develop a comprehensive budget bill that best serves our taxpayers. I’m looking forward to sending this to the President’s desk as soon as possible.”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said the bill is a once in a generation opportunity to renew the Trump tax cuts and deliver on the promises made to the American people.
“Today, House Republicans put America First and politics second and delivered real results,” Moore said. “The passage of President Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill delivers a victory for hardworking families by extending the Trump tax cuts, fully funding border security, lowering energy costs, and investing in new defense technologies. I’m proud to have fought for this bill and to help President Trump deliver on the mandate set by the American people last November.”
It was a long night on the House floor but Republicans just delivered on the American people’s mandate by passing President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill!
This bill ensures his historic tax cuts stay in place, we fund border security for years to come, and cut waste, fraud and…

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) said the legislation delivers critical wins for American families, strengthens national security, and ensures responsible government spending.
“I’m voted yes because hardworking families deserve tax relief, a secure border, and a government that lives within its means. This bill delivers real results while continuing to support our most vulnerable. “I’m especially proud to have helped secure an adoption tax credit in this bill,” Aderholt added. “This provision will provide meaningful relief to adoptive families and reflects our commitment to protecting life and supporting loving homes.”
I voted YES on the One Big Beautiful Bill because families deserve:
✅ Tax relief
✅ Border security
✅ A government that lives within its means
✅ Protections for the most vulnerable—including an adoption tax credit I helped secure.
