Alabama doctor, husband revive boy in Georgia near-drowning

An Alabama couple is credited with reviving a 4-year-old boy who was found unresponsive at the bottom of a pool in Georgia.

Dr. Elizabeth Jacobson tells AL.com that she was attending a dermatology conference Saturday in Stone Mountain with her husband, retired Hoover Fire Capt. Keith Jacobson. Dr. Jacobson says there was “a lot of panic,” when the boy was pulled from the pool, so the couple sprang into action.

They performed two rounds of CPR, with Dr. Jacobson performing chest compressions while her husband performed the rescue breathing. After around 90 seconds, the boy was revived. Rescue workers arrived 20 minutes later, and took him to a hospital.

Dr. Jacobson says her family visited him, and he had no brain damage.
