Valentine’s Day wasn’t all sunshine and roses for two men busted by the Alabama Department of Corrections’ (ADOC) K-9 team.
On Saturday, February 14, ADOC’s K-9 team found Tyrone Davis and Kelvin Gibbons near the Staton Correctional Facility with a backpack containing 171 grams of methamphetamine, 802 grams of marijuana and 87 grams of synthetic cannabinoids, among other prison contraband.
Davis and Gibbons were taken into custody and booked on a laundry list of charges.
The charges? Trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking synthetic cannabinoids, possession of marijuana, and attempting to promote prison contraband in the second degree.
ADOC released the full list of items found in the backpack that was headed to Staton Correctional Facility inmates. 17 cell phones, 16 wireless earbuds, 19 USB wires, 7 USB blocks, three pocketknives, one digital scale, 99 Black N Mild cigars and a singular bottle of Patron.
The investigation remains ongoing.
