Alabama Crimson Tide lands six players on AP All-America team

The Alabama Crimson Tide landed six players on the AP All-America team, including three of its stars on the defense being named first team All-Americans.

Kool-Aid McKinstry, Terrion Arnold, and Dallas Turner all made the first-team, giving Alabama a nation leading three first-team AP All-Americans.

Freshman defensive back Caleb Downs was also named to the second team along with offensive tackle JC Latham, while kicker Will Reichard was named to the third team.

“Consensus” All-American status is determined by five outlets, the American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News and Walter Camp in addition to the AP.

While the AP had three Alabama players on the first team, Walter Camp did not have any, marking the first time since 2019 that Alabama did not have a unanimous All-American.

Walter Camp named Latham, McKinstry, and Turner to the second team, while the Football Writers Association of America had only Dallas Turner on the first team.

The SEC led the way on the AP first-team roster with nine representatives, while the Big-10 was second with six.
