Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee endorses AG Steve Marshall in reelection bid

The Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee (ACJRC) on Friday announced its endorsement of Attorney General Steve Marshall in his bid for a second term as the state’s chief law enforcement officer.

ACJRC chairman Tom Dart praised what the committee sees as Marshall’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.

“Steve Marshall has the integrity and dedication to the rule of law that all Alabamians want to see in their Attorney General,” said Dart. “Both businesses and consumers benefit by the steadfast and fair enforcement of our laws. We clearly believe he deserves another term as our Attorney General.”

Marshall hailed the endorsement and pledged to continue his efforts to combat “federal overreach.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee PAC,” said Marshall. “ACJRC is a trusted organization with whom I share a common desire to promote a fair judicial system in Alabama, ensuring that Alabama maintains its reputation as a business and industry-friendly state.”

He added, “As your Attorney General, I will continue to fight for the people of Alabama pushing back against federal overreach and those who would advance agenda’s opposed to the conservative values that make us strong.”

The attorney general has made it a priority of his office to pursue a legal agenda which seeks to uphold the state’s laws and deter federal government intervention in state operations. He has consistently been a vocal critic of the Biden administration’s progressive policies regarding illegal immigration, gun control, abortion, energy, crime enforcement, among other issues.

Marshall recently announced that his office has undertaken a campaign to combat what many conservatives see as an attack on free speech protections by way of social media companies revoking individuals’ account access and content censorship.

The primary election is slated to occur on May 24, 2022.
