The Crimson Tide is adding another trophy to the case this week, this time via the cheer team in the UCA Division IA All Girl category.
During the competition in Orlando, Alabama claimed its eighth national title in program history and the squad’s fourth all-time in the event, including its first since 2022.
“Our All Girl team winning the program’s eighth national championship is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to their talent, preparation, and execution at such a high level,” said head coach Jennifer Thrasher. “Their ability to stay composed and perform the way they did on the national stage is such a testament to their preparation and commitment. Not a single member of this team had won a national title in their time at Alabama, so it was really special for these seniors to go out on top.”
The Crimson Tide posted a 93.5 in the event’s final round, which put them ahead of South Florida and the Bulls’ runner-up score of 89.6. The spirit squads beyond the All Girl cheer team had impressive runs during the three-day event in Orlando as well, first earning a third-place finish in the Game Day Dance Finals competition with a 90.81 score.
With a 90.51 score in the Division IA Jazz event, Alabama finished ninth, as well as finishing seventh in the field in the Division IA Mascot event after being judged for a final score of 89.48.
“Every team in our program finishing in the top 10 nationally is a reflection of the standard of excellence across our entire spirit program,” Thrasher said. “We talk a lot about making our alumni proud and honoring the legacy of those who came before us and making sure we leave something special for those who come next. I’m very thankful for our university that continues to believe in us. The support we receive from our administration and athletic department makes moments like this possible. Roll Tide!”
