The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers boast three of the top-ten returning wide receivers in college football according to a new ranking from Pro Football Focus.
All-star Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams was ranked No. 2 on the list only behind Ohio State Buckeyes fellow freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith after Smith’s historic season.
Williams had a huge year of his own as well however and if Smith didn’t exist would already be seen as the best wide receiver in the sport. Heading into year two, he will have to establish a rapport with a new quarterback with Jalen Milroe headed to the NFL.
Auburn on the other hand is the only team on the list to have two representatives. One of them was another freshman this past season from the state of Alabama in Cam Coleman. Rated as one of the best in the nation along with Smith and Williams coming into college, Coleman showed flashes of the unbelievable talent that made him such a highly-rated recruit in the first place.

Tigers fans were already familiar with Coleman, but there’s another name on the list who Hugh Freeze brought out of the transfer portal in former Georgia Tech wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., who is coming off a big year himself.
Over the first two seasons of his career with the Yellow Jackets, Singleton had nearly 1,500 receiving yards and boasts track speed which will help Auburn light it up in the passing game as they have struggled to do over the last several years.
Not that it’s a massive shock to anyone, but it seems some of the best receivers in all of college football will be playing in the Yellowhammer State in 2025.
