The Southeastern Conference released its 2025-26 men’s basketball opponents this week, revealing a tough slate for both Alabama and Auburn as anticipation builds for another highly competitive season.
Following what was widely considered the most dominant basketball season in SEC history, the upcoming schedule maintains the league’s elevated standard.
While basketball traditionally takes a backseat to football in the fall, conference play is expected to begin in late December and continue into the new year.

Under the SEC’s 18-game schedule format, each team plays two permanent home-and-home opponents and one rotating home-and-home series. Alabama will face Auburn and Mississippi State twice, with Tennessee rotating in this season as a third home-and-home opponent.
Auburn meanwhile has permanent home-and-home opponents of Alabama and Ole Miss, and they catch Arkansas on the rotation this year and face the Razorbacks twice.
Outside of that, notable games for each include both Alabama and Auburn facing a road trip against the defending national champion Florida Gators as well as a road game in Knoxville against Tennessee for Auburn.
Both get Kentucky at home as well as Texas and Texas A&M.
Both will also travel out to Oklahoma, but only Auburn has to travel to Missouri.
It won’t be long before basketball talk heats up, and the revealing of conference opponents in the best league in college hoops is certainly a huge start to that.
