Alabama announces team captains for 2024 season

The Alabama Crimson Tide have announced their team captains for the 2024 season, ushering in a new era under head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Jalen Milroe, who has been the unquestioned leader of the locker room since earning the starting job back early in the 2023 season following a benching, is the first captain listed.

The other offensive captain is someone who has also established himself as one of the leaders on the team in junior guard Tyler Booker. Booker has excelled over the last two seasons and established himself as one of the best interior offensive linemen in the nation.

Redshirt junior linebacker and Mobile native Deontae Lawson, along with fifth-year safety Malachi Moore were named captains on defense. Both players, among the best on Alabama’s defense, were vocal in their decisions to remain at Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement rather than entering the transfer portal.

Both Lawson and Moore, along with being arguably the two best players on the defense, were extremely vocal in their decisions to stay at Alabama in the wake of Nick Saban’s retirement rather than entering the transfer portal.

Milroe and Booker did the same and all four players will etch their name in Crimson history when they get to put their footprints and handprints in the concrete of Denny Chimes’ shadow.

If Alabama is to continue the legacy of Nick Saban and compete for a title in 2024 under their new head coach, these four players will be a massive reason why.
