After meeting with Trump, GOP governors – Ivey says American ‘Golden Age’ on horizon

After returning from a strategic reunion of America’s top GOP governors and President-elect Donald Trump last night at Mar-a-Lago, Governor Kay Ivey said she is more confident than ever that the next four years will bring about a “Golden Age” in the United States. And it starts with cleaning up the mess of the Biden administration.

“I am grateful for President Trump’s invitation to join him and my fellow Republican governors for a wide-ranging discussion and dinner at Mar-a-Lago. President Trump is prepared to get to work for the American people on day one, and I am more optimistic than ever for our country,” Gov. Ivey said.

“He assured us he would begin reversing bad Biden-Harris policies on his first day in office and that we would address major challenges from illegal immigration to our students’ education. President Trump is smart, knows the facts and is prepared to take America into our ‘Golden Age.’ It is an honor to continue working with President Trump over these next two years to deliver for Alabamians and Americans alike.”

According to reports, during the few-hour visit, Ivey, Trump and the governors keyed in on areas like border security and immigration, economic policy and education — areas that Alabama has blazed a trail for in both the first Trump administration and under the cumbersome regulations of the current.

According to her office, following her visit, the governor is making clear that Alabama is eager to support the Trump agenda and ready to work with the president to continue advancing Alabama.

Now ten days away from inauguration, President-elect Trump met with Republican U.S. Senators on Capitol Hill this week to shore up support for a historic legislative agenda, and met with the group of governors last night to discuss the tight-knit implementation on the state level.

According to reports, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds were among those present during a meeting lead by Trump and his Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.
