College football fans in the South who are missing the sport are starting the countdown on Tuesday. As of today, kickoff for both Alabama and Auburn and week one of the college football calendar is officially 200 days away.
Both teams in the Yellowhammer State have things to be extremely excited about heading into the 2024 season.
For Alabama, it is an entirely new era for the first time in 17 years as the Saban days end and the Kalen DeBoer era begins.
For Auburn, year two of Hugh Freeze‘s tenure gets kicked off, and Tiger fans hope to see a much better product on the field than they did in year one with improvements on both sides of the ball through recruiting and the portal.

Both teams will kick the season off on Saturday, August 31st. Alabama will take on Western Kentucky while Auburn will face Alabama A&M.
Tide and Tiger fans who simply cannot wait a full 200 days have something to look forward to in April, however, with both teams opening their respective stadiums for their A-Day spring games.
Auburn’s spring game will be held on Saturday, April 6th, while Alabama’s will be the following weekend on Saturday, April 13th.
We’re getting closer football fans. Start the countdown — we have 200 days to go.
