The best news Alabama gun enthusiasts have heard in a while

Steyr

BESSEMER, Ala. — Steyr Arms, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious firearms manufacturers, will hold an unprecedented two-day factory-direct sale of Steyr, Merkel and select Anschutz firearms at its new headquarters in Bessemer, Alabama, the company announced Wednesday.

Steyr Arms, located at 2530 Morgan Road in Bessemer, will open the doors to its 3,000 sq./ft. showroom to the public from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. this Friday and Saturday (July 18-19).

Held in coordination with Steyr’s 150th anniversary, the summer sale will be a rare opportunity for Alabamians to visit the new Steyr U.S. headquarters and showroom, which is normally only possible by appointment.

They will also be able to handle everything from hand-crafted and highly embellished double rifles costing in excess of $35,000 to the Steyr HS.50 rifle, which won the 2011, 2012 and 2014 Fifty Caliber Shooter Association World Championships straight-out-of-the-box, to revolutionary Steyr striker-fired pistols, as well as the newest and as yet unreleased Steyr AUG M1 platform variations. And they can take advantage of some really great savings, too.

Customers can come into the new Steyr headquarters, or they can stop by many local Steyr dealers to take advantage of the deals.

The participating local dealers in the Steyr Factory-Direct Summer Sale are Simmons Outdoors, Birmingham Pistol Wholesale, Nichols Outfitters, and Second Season in Tuscaloosa.

In April, Steyer completed a $1.7 million expansion in Bessemer that will allow the manufacturer to increase its assembly capacity and create more Jobs. “We hope to do more weapons assembly and add more jobs,” Steyr Arms CEO Scott O’Brien said at the time.

This weekend’s Steyr sale is one that Alabama firearms enthusiasts probably don’t want to miss.
