(Above: the top 10 common sense quotes from Jeff Sessions’ campaign speech)

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) made a campaign stop in Eutaw, Ala. on Monday and delivered a brief but wide-ranging speech to the assembled crowd.

Yellowhammer was on hand to capture the action. In the video above and the text below you can check out the top 10 quotes from Sessions’ speech.

10.

I do not believe the classical American vision for what we are as a people — our Constitutional order — is out of date.

9.

I believe our strength and our future lies in our commitment to law, commitment to Constitutional order, hard work, personal discipline, personal responsibility, faith and those qualities that made America great.

8.

Some sort of compromise on fixing and saving Medicare, saving Social Security has got to be reached, and every year we put that off the harder it is to do it.

7.

You talk to businesses as I do all over the state, national businesses, they are happy doing business in Alabama. They’re treated well.

6.

This is an advantage — one of the few big advantages we have that allows us to have workers get paid a higher wage… We should not give that up.

5.

I’m very disappointed at the disarray our foreign policy is in. I think it’s encouraging dangerous activity, placing us at risk, creating uncertainty and instability.

4.

We are a generous nation. Our lawful immigration policies admit a million people a year. We’re not against immigration.

3.

The policy of the United States should be to serve the interests of the American people as a whole, not the special interests. I think if you think about what’s in the national interest, it’s that we need to slow down a bit. Let’s get this immigration under control. Let’s have a lawful flow of immigration. Let’s make sure that wages start recovering and coming back again.

2.

We need to be doing things to create jobs instead of creating more debt. You can’t borrow your way to prosperity. Somebody compared that to taking a bucket and getting it at one end of the swimming pool and taking it around and pouring it in the other. You borrow money to spend the money and it gains you nothing.

We’re going to bring Alabama common sense — if the Lord gives me the ability — to these issues and try to represent the average working American.
