VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — This Saturday, Vestavia will be the latest location to host “Slide the City”, a 1,000-foot long slip-n-slide that travels the country to bring summer fun to communities.
The slide, which will be located on on Lime Rock Road, has been to Alabama before. In 2015, Slide the City came to Huntsville and Mobile, but passed over the Birmingham area.
“Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event,” the company’s website reads. “There will be live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry, we’ve got it padded. This slide’s got more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.”
Anyone aged 5 and up and 46 inches tall can take a ride on one of the slides many inflatable rafts, trekking 1,000 feet of splash-filled fun. The only requirement – besides purchasing a ticket – is that riders sign a safety waiver.
Tickets can be purchased on slidethecity.com, and the “yellowhammer” promo code will get you a discount. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event.
Parking will be located at the Vestavia Hills High School lot. Slide the City will also be back in Alabama for a visit to Florence on July 2 and Huntsville July 9.
