The City of Montgomery on Thursday shared a touching story of three public employees helping a fellow Alabamian in serious need.
In a tweet, the City outlined how one of its sanitation crews conducting its normal business went above and beyond.
“While on their regular route, Victor, Japhillip and Quinterious saw a resident had fallen in his front yard,” the tweet explained. “With nobody home to help, they stopped the truck and jumped into action, helping our neighbor to his home.”

In a statement to Yellowhammer News, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said this exemplifies the type of people who work for and live in Alabama’s capital city.
“In Montgomery, we’re blessed with a team that cares about our community and is driven daily to be the very best,” he commented. “That’s why the actions of Victor, Japhillip, & Quinterious are another example of the dignity of work that exists among our frontline staff.”
“Even at the height of the COVID-19 crisis, these special employees from Sanitation as well as those from throughout our City organization were on the frontlines working day-in and day-out to keep our community moving forward. Our promise is to do our part to support them,” Reed concluded.
