AUDIO: ‘The University of Alabama showed great courage in its defense of open debate and free speech’ — J. Pepper Bryars

(Wikicommons)

Earlier this week J. Pepper Bryars, editor of Yellowhammer News, appeared on WYDE’s “The Ford Faction” to discuss a speech that was scheduled to be given by a “race realist” this Thursday at the University of Alabama.

“The University of Alabama showed great courage in its defense of open debate and free speech through its willingness to allow this speaker on campus,” Bryars said, adding that “the only cure for hate speech is more speech.”

The details:

— An obscure student group invited self-described “race realist” (aka: a racist) Jared Taylor to deliver a lecture on campus.

— The university initially approved the event because the group had followed the required process, although administration officials made clear Taylor’s message ran contrary to the school’s values.

— Eventually, however, the student group was found to be in violation of key requirements (having a faculty advisory, etc.), and after officials gave the students time to come into alignment, the group failed so the invitation was rescinded.

“Had the group met the requirements and followed the process like any other, Alabama was prepared to allow its students to hear the racist arguments this man makes, and that’s a great thing,” Bryars said. “Because the only way our society can refute such claims is to know of their existence and how to properly dispose of them … like the garbage they are.”

AUDIO: ‘Do we really believe abortion is murder?’ — J. Pepper Bryars

(W.Miller/YHN)

Earlier this week, Yellowhammer News Editor J. Pepper Bryars appeared on WYDE’s “The Ford Faction” radio program to discuss the pro-life movement and the battle to defund Planned Parenthood.

“Those of us who are pro-life must ask ourselves this question,” Bryars said. “Do we truly believe abortion is what we say it is … which is the butchering of an innocent, defenseless, unborn person?”

“If the answer to that question is ‘yes,’” he added, “then here is the second question we must ask ourselves: What other issue is more important than stopping that from happening?”

The details:

— The GOP Congress and the Trump White House promised to fully defund Planned Parenthood, but the abortion provider still remains eligible to apply for millions in Medicaid and other federal grants.

— An attempt to attach a rider to the recent $1.3 trillion omnibus bill outlawing such funding failed to gain enough support in the House and Senate.

— Bryars asked, “If abortion is what the GOP says it is, then defunding Planned Parenthood should be the party’s top priority.”

Listen to the interview here:

70

Editor’s note: No federal appropriation specifically designated for Planned Parenthood was included in the $1.3 trillion omnibus bill that recently passed Congress, or in any appropriations bill in recent memory. Instead, the abortion provider has historically relied upon the millions of federal dollars it receives through Medicaid and related grants. Efforts to prevent Planned Parenthood from receiving these dollars have repeatedly failed, but the battle continues.

Anthony Scaramucci talks Stormy Daniels, the 2nd Amendment, and President Trump’s leadership

(Wikicommons)

Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director under President Trump, joined The Conservative Savage last Saturday to discuss a few recent news events occurring in America.

Scaramucci discussed Stormy Daniels, immigration, the 2nd Amendment, and President Trump’s leadership.

When asked about the Stormy Daniels controversy, Scaramucci described the matter as a “complicated story.”

“I’m friends with the president, so I am going to take him at his word,” Scaramucci continued.

451

“Her end of the bargain was to lay low. She breached that end of the bargain, so why not return the $130,000.”

In an attempt to reach out to Americans, Scaramuccci said, “I’m hoping that we move past the personal scandals and focus the country on policy because the president has got the right policies. The economy is growing, deregulation has been a focal point for small businesses, and you can see new job activity in small businesses.”

“For the first time in about twelve years, you’re seeing a dramatic increase in wages. Middle and lower-middle-class families are benefitting,” he continued.

Scaramucci was asked his opinion on immigration into America and his thoughts on the citizenship question being placed on the census. He responded, “Let’s face it, we are a nation of immigrants… I am all for naturalized and legal immigration, I think so is the president.”

“If you have a welfare state, you have to have a strong border. Without a strong border and the free market being what it is, people will flood over the border to participate in your welfare state,” Scaramucci stated.

“Regarding the citizenship and the census, it’s political. I think that the Democrats have decided that the people coming into the United States are going to vote their way. This is a way they can blueify these states.”

When asked whether or not he believed the left was out to repeal the 2nd Amendment, Scaramucci responded, “There is absolutely no question that there is a large group on the left that want to repeal the 2nd Amendment, including, apparently, Justice Stevens.”

“We have to figure out a way to keep the guns away from people that are crazy, that want to do real hurt and harm, specifically school children,” he said.

“I am a champion of the 2nd Amendment. I come from a family of hunters… I understand why people want to have their guns. They’re normal. They don’t want to harm others and of course they should have them.”

When asked about whether or not he thought President Trump’s Twitter use hindered or helped Trump’s dealings with China, Scaramucci responded, “I think it helps and it hurts. I think it does both… Theirs is a strategic use of the Twitter account. He did that during the campaign.”

In regards to what he would do if he was currently serving the president, Scaramucci said, “I had a nine-point plan that I was ready to submit that Monday when I got fired. I would take him [President Trump] out of the corner he is painted in and get him out there to other outlets.”

Retired military police officer Todd Rauch talks about being wounded in Iraq and how he wants to continue serving with his run for the Alabama State House of Representatives.

Todd Rauch grew up in a small town in Illinois. After high school he joined the United States Army. Following in the footsteps of his uncle, Rauch set out to become a military police officer. While on deployment in Iraq his life took a dramatic turn. Rauch was wounded in the arm and shoulder by a remotely-detonated mortar round. After 12 grueling surgeries, doctors were able to save his limbs, but his career in the Army came to an end.

Following retirement he attended Auburn University and made Lee County his home. Today Rauch spends his days helping other military veterans and focuses on issues that impact his community and Alabama. After attending multiple city council and county commission meetings throughout the state of Alabama, he became frustrated by the lack of engagement from elected officials. It was that frustration that led Rauch to launch a campaign for the Alabama House of Representatives in District 38, which covers parts of Lee and Chambers County.
