Alabama’s Telegraph Creative wins Emmy for Abbeville Fiber video

Birmingham-based Telegraph Creative has been awarded an Emmy Award for its incredible cinematography work on a 2019 video previewing the grand opening of the Abbeville Fiber Sawmill in Henry County, Alabama.

The honor was awarded to Ginnard Archibald, Telegraph’s director of Video Content, by the Southeast chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences during a live streamed event in Atlanta, Georgia. Archibald won in the “Photographer – Short Form” category.

As reported by Yellowhammer News last year, the state-of-the-art sawmill in the Wiregrass brought over 100 new jobs to the area.

However, this new facility is about much more than the facts and figures involved. For this rural Yellowhammer State community, Abbeville Fiber is indicative of a way of life.

The chill-inducing — and now, award-winning — video featured the tagline “American dreams begin with American jobs.”

Abbeville Fiber is owned by Jimmy Rane’s Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc.

“This project had all of the ingredients for an impactful video: a client who values creativity and top-quality work, a beautiful setting, and most importantly, a great story to tell,” stated Archibald. “Bringing this story to life alongside the incredibly talented Great Southern Wood team was a real joy for all of us at Telegraph — this award belongs to the whole team.”

Lindsay Rane Carter, Great Southern Wood’s director of External Affairs, praised the combined efforts that brought the Emmy Award-winning video to life.

“Our entire team is so proud of this video and the work we have done together with Telegraph,” she commented. “We’ve had such a great time creating incredible content together and look forward to continuing to do more in the future.”

It should further be noted that current members of Telegraph’s team won a total of five 2020 Emmy Awards from the Academy’s Southeast chapter.
