Radio Talk Show Host Calls Out Caller Who Alleges Republicans Incite Violence

Radio show host Andrew McLain from 101.1 WYDE in Birmingham Alabama had a heated exchange with a caller who asserted that Republicans or are responsible for inciting violence. The caller, also named Andrew, sparred with McLain over the issue, and this audio is too rich to miss.

On the show, McLain and co-host Jessica Borklund were talking about how some say that President Trump’s Twitter habits have led to incidents of violence. The caller asserted that the actions of other Republicans have led to violence. Supporting his claim, he used the same example from a recent New York Times editorial, which said Sarah Palin’s campaign materials incited the tragic shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords back in 2011. What the caller apparently failed to realize is that the Times printed this correction to that editorial:

“An earlier version of this editorial incorrectly stated that a link existed between political incitement and the 2011 shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords. In fact, no such link was established.”

This correction is what McLain used to set the caller straight.

McLain’s hosts The Line with Andrew McClain and Jessica Borklund weekdays on SuperStation 101 WYDE from 1 to 3 pm.
